Acuvail Eye Drops Ingredients

Acuvail contains the active ingredient "Ketorolac Tromethamine," a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It reduces inflammation and relieves pain by decreasing the production of prostaglandins that cause inflammation and pain.

What is the use of Acuvail eye drops?

Acuvail drops are used to treat pain and inflammation (swelling and redness) following cataract surgery.

Acuvail Eye Drops Dosage

• The usual dose is one drop twice daily in the affected eye.

• Use of the drops begins one day before cataract surgery, then continues for a duration determined by your doctor.

• Do not use the drops for more than two weeks unless recommended by your doctor.

• Do not use the drops while wearing contact lenses. They must be removed first; wait 15 minutes after using the drops before reinserting contact lenses.

• Wait at least 5 minutes before using any other eye drops.

Side Effects of Acuvail

Acuvail drops may cause some side effects, such as:

• Increased intraocular pressure (pressure inside the eye).

• Eye pain.

• Red spots on the white of the eye.

• Blurred vision.

• Eye burning or stinging.

• Eye irritation.

Contraindications

Do not use Acuvail drops in case of hypersensitivity to any of its components.

Warnings and Precautions

Caution should be exercised before using Acuvail, especially in cases of:

• Allergy to aspirin or other NSAIDs, or a history of asthma after taking NSAIDs.

• Tendency to bruise easily, being prone to bleeding, or taking blood thinners (anticoagulants).

• Diabetes.

• Dry eye syndrome.

• Rheumatoid arthritis.

• Previous eye surgery or planning to undergo eye surgery.

• Pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Storage and Handling

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.

• Discard the single-dose vial immediately after use, even if some solution remains.
