Composition of Adalat Tablets

Each tablet of Adalat contains 30 mg of the active ingredient Nifedipine, a calcium channel blocker that helps lower high blood pressure and reduce the workload on the heart in cases of angina.

Adalat LA 30 mg uses

Adalat LA 30 mg tablets are used for the treatment of:

• High blood pressure.

• Angina.

Adalat LA 30 Dosage

• The usual dose is one tablet daily.

• The prescribed dose may vary in cases of angina.

• It is recommended to take the dose at the same time every day, preferably in the morning.

• The medication can be taken with or without food.

• Do not start Adalat treatment within 3 days of drinking grapefruit juice or eating grapefruit, and avoid consuming it during treatment.

Adalat LA 30 side effects

Adalat LA 30 tablets may cause some side effects, such as:

• Headache.

• Flushing.

• Constipation.

• Swelling, especially in the ankles or legs.

Contraindications

Adalat tablets should not be used in cases of:

• Hypersensitivity to its components.

• Acute angina attack, as Adalat does not provide immediate symptom relief.

• Unstable angina.

• Liver disease.

• Inflammatory bowel disease, such as Crohn’s disease.

• Intestinal obstruction or narrowing.

• History of esophageal obstruction.

• Aortic valve stenosis.

• History of cardiogenic shock.

• Persistent high blood pressure despite treatment.

• Concurrent use of Rifampicin.
