Defonex nasal spray contains the active ingredient "Mometasone Furoate," a corticosteroid effective in reducing inflammation.

What is Defonex nasal spray used for?

Defonex spray is used for the treatment of:

• Symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis.

• Perennial allergic rhinitis.

• Nasal polyps.

How to Use Defonex Spray

For Seasonal and Perennial Allergic Rhinitis:

• Adults and children over 12 years: Two sprays in each nostril once daily.

• Children aged 6 - 12 years: One spray in each nostril once daily.

For Nasal Polyps:

• Adults and children over 12 years: Two sprays in each nostril once daily.

• If symptoms do not improve after 5 - 6 weeks, the dose may be adjusted to two sprays in each nostril twice daily.

Defonex Spray Side Effects

Defonex spray may cause some side effects, such as:

• Nasal or throat irritation.

• Sneezing.

• Nosebleeds (Epistaxis).

• Headache.

Contraindications

Defonex nasal spray should not be used in the following cases:

• Hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients.

• Nasal infection.

• Recent nasal injury or surgery.

Warnings and Precautions

Inform your physician of any health conditions you have before using Defonex spray, especially:

• Tuberculosis (TB).

• Cystic fibrosis.

• Ocular Herpes Simplex or any other infections.

• Current use of other corticosteroids (oral or injectable).

• Exposure to individuals with measles or chickenpox.

• Pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Storage and Handling Instructions

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.

• Do not use the medication after the expiration date printed on the packaging.
