Cefodox contains 200 mg of the antibiotic "Cefpodoxime Proxetil," which belongs to the cephalosporin class. It works by killing the bacteria that cause the infection.

Cefodox tablets are used to treat:

Cefodox Antibiotic Dosage

Pharyngitis and/or tonsillitis: 200 mg daily, divided into two doses (100 mg every 12 hours) for 5–10 days.

Acute sinusitis: 400 mg daily, divided into two doses (200 mg every 12 hours) for 10 days.

Bacterial pneumonia: 400 mg daily, divided into two doses (200 mg every 12 hours) for 14 days.

Acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis: 400 mg daily, divided into two doses (200 mg every 12 hours) for 10 days.

Urinary tract infections: 200 mg daily, divided into two doses (100 mg every 12 hours) for 7 days.

Gonorrhea: 200 mg as a single dose only.
