  • Secondary Dressing: Can be used as a secondary dressing to secure AQUACEL™ or other primary dressings.

  • Clinical Standards: The European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (EPUAP) guidelines recommend hydrocolloids for the management of pressure ulcers.

  • Staging: Suitable for treating Stage I and Stage II pressure ulcers.

What is DuoDERM Extra Thin used for?

  • Pressure ulcers (bedsores).

  • Surgical wounds.

  • Partial-thickness burns.

  • Abrasions and minor scrapes.

Duoderm Extra Thin how to use?

  1. Preparation: Wash your hands, clean and rinse the wound, then dry the surrounding skin.

  2. Sizing: Measure the wound to choose the appropriate dressing size, allowing for a 3 cm overlap onto intact skin around the entire wound.

  3. Warming: Warm the dressing between your hands.

  4. Peeling: Remove the top white release paper, taking care to minimize finger contact with the adhesive surface.

  5. Alignment: Hold the adhesive side of the dressing over the wound and align the dressing with the center of the wound.

  6. Application: Gently apply the center part of the dressing. Remove the bottom white release paper while rolling the dressing into place, but do not stretch it.

  7. Securing: Repeat the process on the other side and remove the clear release paper. Gently mold the dressing into place with your hands for 30–60 seconds.

Removal Instructions

  1. Gently lift one corner of the dressing.

  2. Carefully pull the dressing away from the wound while keeping the skin pressed down.

  3. Gently lift the other corners and pull upward until the dressing is completely peeled off.
